Sleeping Beauty audition opportunity
RARE Productions is giving young people in Winchester an exciting opportunity to take part in a professionally-led musical production of Sleeping Beauty.
Experience the timeless tale of Sleeping Beauty, where a beautiful princess is cursed by an evil fairy to prick her finger on a spindle and fall into a deep sleep. But with the intervention of a good fairy, the curse is altered so that she sleeps for 100 years, awaiting true love's kiss to awaken her. A handsome prince embarks on a journey to break the spell and save the kingdom. Will true love prevail and bring an end to the enchantment?
If you’re aged 8-21 year’s old, RARE Productions is inviting you to audition for this professional musical production, to be performed at Theatre Royal Winchester Thu 1 – Sat 3 August 2024.
You must attend ONE of the following auditions:
Auditions 1
Date: Mon 29 April 2024
Venue: Theatre Royal Winchester
5pm – 6pm (8-12 years old)
6pm – 7pm (13-21 years old)
Auditions 2
Date: Sat 4 May 2024
Venue: The Arc, Winchester
1.30pm – 3pm (8-12 years old)
3pm – 4.30pm (13-21 years old)
About the auditions:
- The auditions are FREE (fees apply if offered a role – see below)
- Auditions are fun and provide a great way to gain confidence and communication skills
- You do not need to book – just arrive anytime within audition time slot
- You do not need to prepare anything
- The audition takes between 20-30 minutes and you will be taught a short excerpt from a song, a short movement routine and will be asked to read from a script
- You do need to wear comfortable clothing
- Parents are not allowed into the audition room, but are asked to stay and supervise their children before and after the audition.
Please be aware you must be available for the entire rehearsal period (these are TBC) and show dates: Thu 1 – Sat 3 August 2024.
Fees: £179 per participant (Which can be split into three payments of £50, £66 & £66), which covers the entire period of the project, including creative teams, professional tuition, insurances and licenses, sets, props and costumes.
