Grease audition opportunity!

RARE Productions is giving young people in Winchester an exciting opportunity to take part in a professionally-led musical production of Grease.

Welcome to the singing and dancing world of Grease, the most successful movie musical of all time. Experience the friendships, romances and adventures of a group of high school kids in the 1950s. A wholesome exchange student and a leather-clad Danny have a summer romance, but will it cross clique lines?

If you’re aged 8-21 year’s old, RARE Productions is inviting you to audition for the classic musical, to be performed at Theatre Royal Winchester Thu 3 – Sat 5 August 2023.

You must attend ONE of the following auditions:

Auditions 1
Date: Mon 24 April 2023
Venue: Theatre Royal Winchester
5pm – 6pm (8-12 years old)
6pm – 7pm (13-21 years old)

Auditions 2
Date: Sat 29 April 2023
Venue: The Arc, Winchester
1.30pm – 3pm (8-12 years old)
3pm – 4.30pm (13-21 years old)

About the auditions:

• The auditions are FREE (fees apply if offered a role – see below)
• Auditions are fun and provide a great way to gain confidence and communication skills
• You do not need to book a time slot – just arrive anytime during the audition
• You do not need to prepare anything
• The audition takes between 20-30 minutes and you will be taught a short excerpt from a song, a short movement routine and will be asked to read from a script
• You do need to wear comfortable clothing

Please be aware you must be available for the entire rehearsal period (these are TBC) and show dates: Thu 3 – Sat 5 August 2023

Fees: £175 per participant (Which can be split into three payments of £50, £64 & £64), which covers the entire period of the project, including creative teams, professional tuition, insurances and licenses, sets, props and costumes.
