Let's Explore Set and Costume Designs for Theatre!

A practical session for young people of all experiences where they will work with an experienced designer to explore a range of exercises, activities, and skills to empower them to design their own set and/or costume designs.

In the sessions participants will explore:

• Introduction to set and costume design;
• Design creating and making skills;
• Creating designs with found materials;
• Exploring how set and costume compliments stories on stage;
• Understand how to get started;
• Tips on overcoming design making hurdles.

Participants will then apply this learning to create an original design for a performance of their own choosing, under the guidance of the workshop leader who will be a local designer bringing with them a wealth of experience in designing for theatre.
