Playmakers Youth Theatre
Drama & Theatre (School Yrs 3–6) 2025/26
Our specialised drama and theatre sessions are designed to enable participants to develop their skills, knowledge and passion in all elements of traditional and contemporary theatre making.
In the sessions participants will explore:
- Acting skills;
- Character development technique;
- Directing tips;
- Games for rehearsals;
- Performing on stage;
- Story generation exercises;
- Working with others.
Participants will apply their learning in sessions when working collaboratively with their fellow participants on traditional plays, new scripts and when creating their own original work.
Playmakers Youth Theatre groups will have the opportunity to show their devised work live on stage, at Theatre Royal Winchester (20 March 2026). The summer term will focus on scripted work skills, ending with a showing to parents/guardians.

Financial Support
We hope that our prices are affordable, but we understand that it may not be affordable for everyone. We are able to offer financial support (such as bursaries) to new and existing members for whom the price is a barrier to joining Playmakers Youth Theatre.
