Change is in the making

Playmakers is perhaps more than meets the eye.

You could look at it as a sophisticated open source innovation process which combines online, offline, open and closed elements. Or you could say that it is a ground-breaking film project which uses the phenomenon of pervasive gaming to explore the future of play and its social implications. Or perhaps it is an experiment which tells us something about the future of the games industry, especially as mobile and GPS technology means that the distinction between online and physical spaces become more and more fuzzy. And indeed it is of course an opportunity for you to take part in a unique experience that will take place on London’s SouthBank at the end of July.

I will be blogging throughout the duration of the project and no doubt will be exploring each of these themes and more besides as the exciting Playmakers process continues.

But for now, I do hope that you participate, please do come out and play.  Ours is a time for exploring how the world is changing and innovation after all is not an armchair activity.
